Job Description
Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to work on a large-scale technical Data center construction program. Under direction of the client, the Site Manager will be responsible for coordinating with the general contractor and architect/engineer services provider for all construction related activities on the project, including but not limited to:
- Site layout/design (inclusive of roads, infrastructure, site utilities, etc.).
- Constructability reviews of designs, identifying risk to project cost and schedule, preparing reports.
- Ability to work well within a team and liaise with external vendors, architects, engineers, suppliers, & General Contractor.
- In-depth knowledge of construction management in commercial building applications including applicable building codes and standards, as well as amendments by authorities having jurisdiction.
- Strong working knowledge of safety in design and health and safety regulations as they apply to commercial building construction sites.
Our ideal candidate has experience working on site.
Main activities including but not limited:
- Review statement of work and confirm against the client´s project requirements.
- Be the main utility´s counterpart to care about client´s needs and contractual agreements.
- Support the RPM reviewing subcontractor proposals and provide feedback, ensuring contracts compliance, and managing change order requests. Support request for proposal/bidding process as needed. Review and provide recommendations for contractors’ proposed costs.
- Ensure contractual and technical compliance of contractors during the execution of the projects based on schedule, TTSS, etc.
- Support the RPM by reviewing and estimating budget for project funding request to be processed into Google’s Project management system.
- Work from and Visit the site for inspections for compliance and progress checking. Provide updates to the RPM and client and maintain momentum of the project execution in the field.
- Support the RPM by implementing standard process for change management, risk management, and contingency drawdown.
- Oversee Value Engineering (“VE”) opportunities.
- Monitor and track the project performance regarding safety, quality, cost & schedule through reports.
- Review payment applications against progress on site and schedule and backup documentation, invoicing, and provide recommendations to the client for approval. Ensure all payments are in order.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams in the field to ensure work execution is planned.
- Oversee testing and commissioning to ensure the GC is following the utility requirements. Coordinate with contractors the work procedures, plans, documentation, and scripts review until acceptance by the utility, and drive the final delivery of all projects.
- Manage Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and documentation under the utilities´ requirements and standards.
- Lead the projects handover and closeout process and support the data capture and benchmarking.
Qualifications
- Substations and power background experience.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years project management experience.
- Degree in Construction management or Equivalent and OSHA certified.
- Proficient – expert experience level using Microsoft tools (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Desirable to have experience in real estate green field development such as Laboratory projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The tenacity and drive to inject value and create solutions.
- Develops good working relationships with project team.
- Fluent English.
